In the words of Issa “Kill Everything Around Me” Rae, I’m rooting for everybody black!

On Sunday (December 10), I had the pleasure of attending Ceesay Banjul‘s Holiday Must Haves Brunch & Shop Fashion Mixer at Coze. The online boutique featured a line of on-trend affordable fashion pieces ranging from accessories, shoes, coats, apparel, and much more.

Cerah Ceesay, the boutique owner, uses her unique eye for fashion to select a variety of styles that cater to the taste of every fashionista. And to take it a step further, Ceesay and her team at Lillie Mae PR, introduced a panel to provide tips and advice on how to style yourself within the trends of this season. The panel included Julian Lark of Kontrol Magazine and Princess of iam.priiincesss.com. Take a look at their tips below.

On closet staples:

  • Black and nude pumps
  • Black and nude open-toed shoes
  • Solid colors

One expanding your style…

  • Explore prints: floral, animal, etc.
  • Try bold colors
  • Step out of your comfort zone
  • Create a fashion board for inspiration

One thing I would add is to switch up where you shop. Find a new boutique/store support your designer friends, or go thrifting. I think every time you expose yourself to something new, you are also exposing yourself to a new mindset. Why not do the same with your style? In case you’re stuck on where to start, I recommend Ceesay Banjul. I bought these super comfy distressed jeans and it fits like a glove ⎯ you can find it here.
