In my morning skincare routine, I like to make sure that my skin goes from tired to refreshed and moisturized skin so there are a few extra steps that I do in the AM that I don’t do at night. I’m also a flight attendant so it’s important that I prep my skin with as much moisture as possible before I head to the plane. My skincare routine is very simple and won’t take up any extra time.
Here’s a peek into my morning skincare routine:
1. Cleansing
My first step is to cleanse my face. I use A Perfect World Cleanser with White Tea by Origins because it helps to keep your skin looking young and youthful, it detoxifies your face from harmful toxins and leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed. I like cleansers that have a low foam-factor, meaning, it foams just enough without stripping too much of your natural oils. Some cleansers with a bubbly, sudsy effect (like soap) tend to cause tightness and dryness.
When washing my face I try to stick to circular motions or work upward, chin-to-forehead instead of forehead-to-chin. I also cleanse my face 2-3 times.
2. Face Mask
My next step is my face mask. I’m not going to lie, this particular face wash seems to be discontinued. I use the GinZing Refreshing face mask and leave it on for 10 minutes. The instructions say to wipe it off, but I prefer to wash it off. It brightens the skin and adds a very natural glow. A good alternative to this face mask is the GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser, it exfoliates, softens, and brighten your skin.
3. Serums
Serums are very important for my skincare routine. Since I’m a flight attendant and the air on the plane dries out my skin so much, I need to layer up on the moisture. I use A Perfect World Skin Guardian with White Tea. It fights visible signs of oxidation, deterioration, and dehydration.
The consistency is light enough to use with a moisturizer without making your skin feel suffocated but thick enough to fully moisturize your face.
4. Moisturizer (with SPF)
When it comes to my morning routine, I ALWAYS use a moisturizer with SPF 40 or more. SPF is so important because it helps:
- protect your skin from the sun
- prevent dark spot and scaring from hyper-pigmentation from getting darker
- can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and overall signs of aging
I use A Perfect World SPF 40 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea. One thing I love is that it doesn’t leave a white cast on your face like most moisturizers with SPF. It also, adds moisture to the skin, delays signs of aging, and protects your skin from damaging effects of pollution and the sun.
5. Eye Creams
I see a lot of people skip eye creams when it comes to their skincare routine. I think it’s really important to use an eye cream because that area around our eye is very sensitive, wrinkles and fine lines are highly likely. Using an eye cream help nourish your skin, depuff and brighten, and fight aging. I actually use two eye cream from Origins, the GinZing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff. I use this to add more brightness to my skin and relieve puffiness. Other times, mainly in the summer, I use A Perfect World Eye Cream with SPF 20, to make sure my under I area is also protected from the sun.
Finally, I add some lip balm and that wraps up my skincare routine. Watch my full routine in action below:
