The Overthinker

the overthinker

I wrote this poem for the overthinker in me — I hope this helps you get out of your head and free your spirit.

Look at you…

Questioning what you already know,
Letting fear dictate your moves,
Confusing your thoughts,
Whispering lies—
That you’re not smart enough,
Not pretty enough,
Not good enough.

But you are enough.

The overthinker is never satisfied.
It preys on your confidence,
Twists your mind,
Makes you believe you’re less than who you are.

The overthinker is toxic.
It poisons your brain,
Warping reality,
Convincing you things should be different—
That you should be different.

Don’t you get it?

The overthinker hates to see you trust yourself.
Hates to see you flourish without chaos.
Hates to see you at peace.

The overthinker is a liar.
Don’t trust that shit.
