I’m a big fan of the LCO method (leave-in, cream, and oil), but lately, Georgia heat has been telling me that’s not enough. If you know anything about summers here, it’s intense, and its the humidity vs. EVERYBODY. I’m not kidding. I’m not opposed to using gel, but sometimes it can be a bit drying and it can cause even more product build-up. So I was determined to figure out a way to get defined curls with a firm hold without the gel!
To achieve this, I used the LCO method, but it’s all about the product.
What You’ll Need
- Leave-in condition. I love a goo water-based/liquid leave-in. It allows more moisture in my hair. For this style, I used the Now & Forever leave-in serum by Moisture Love.
- Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Multi-Vitamin Styling Creme. This is key for this style because, in my opinion, it’s a 2-in-1 styler. It’s a curl definer but also gives a firm hold to your hair without the crunch.
- Oil of choice. My oil of choice for this style is Vitamin E oil by Hollywood Beauty Products
Get The Look:
Step 1: Part your hair the way you prefer. For this twist out I went with a side part.
Step 2: Create smaller section to creat twist.
Step 3: Spray your hair with water and apply leave-in conditioner.
Step 4: Finger detangle or use a detangling brush to remove any knots or tangles.
Step 5: Apply Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Multi-Vitamin Styling Creme generously throughout your stands.
Step 6: Apply Oil. The oil helps seal moisture and soften hair.
Step 7: twist and repeat.
I think air drying your hair is always best, but if you had to go under a dryer use low heat or cool dry. Too much heat with this style can cause your curls to get really stiff and crunchy.
